Southeast President Letter

We had a great time at the ACA National at Elkhorn Ridge. There were a lot of SE folks there and we always had great social hours! Thanks goes out to all involved in the National and our Southeast Pre-Rally.

The day before the pre-rally started there were already a lot of us there, of course we had a social. Our Rally Coordinator and ACA magazine editor, Doug Thompson took some photos and one of them is on the cover of the latest ACA Magazine and our webmaster has put the picture on the Southeast web page. www.southeastaca.net

My article in the most recent ACA magazine included a paragraph on a maintenance lesson learned during our recent travels, I hope that our experience will help other American Coach owners, I just wish our lessons learned weren’t so expensive! Our latest lesson regards our hydraulic leveling system. Our jacks were stuck while we were in Gillette, we did manage through technical assistance to get the jacks housed. We decided to not even attempt to use them until we could get them repaired. We found out that a Power Gear representative would be in Spearfish and were anxiously awaiting our appointment. The Power Gear rep (Tom Patterson) replaced the motor only to find out that the pump is bad. Tom told us that the pump is water resistant, not waterproof. We have had the coach power washed and I am sure that coupled with driving in the rain, water had done damage. Our webmaster who knows of this concern has even caulked his motor/pump connection. My advice is, if you have your coach power washed, make sure the power wash crew is aware of the location of the motor.

Southeast has several rallies scheduled and we are planning more! Our rally schedule, updates and registration are always available on the southeast web site www.southeastaca.net .

In October we will be in Fort Myers at the Gulf Waters RV Park, the highest rated premier RV Park in the area. Southeast has not been to this area in at least eight years and there is good interest. This rally is past two/thirds of our capacity. Please register soon!

Southeast will have our annual Christmas Rally at the Sun-N-Fun resort in Sarasota. Sun-N-Fun is a luxury facility that is widely recognized as one of the premier resorts in the world. Our experienced rally hosts Terry & Belinda Moorefield along with Dave & Ann Laudick and Wendy Gaynor are going to provide a fun filled rally!

We already have received two thirds of our registrations for the 8th Annual Regional Rally at Lazydays. Register now! There is no up-front expense. This rally will be different in 2019. Based on comments we have received opening night will be more socially oriented with background music only. The rally will also be shortened to three nights with meals each night. The rally will end on the morning the Supershow rally begins.

Our return to the Florida RV Supershow in January 2019 continues to receive a lot of interest! The FRVTA plans on making registration available in mid-September. There were 40 SEACA coaches in attendance in January 2018 and it was a lot of fun. We will send out notification when registration is available, register as soon as possible! We have posted a tentative agenda on www.myamericancoach.com and www.southeastaca.net. Please note that this rally sells out fast.

Our “Return to the (Fort) Wilderness” will be held in February 2019. To register and reserve for extra days call our agent (Hilda), her phone number is (302)598-8892. Be sure to tell Hilda you are with Southeast

We are always on the lookout for great rally locations and I would appreciate your input!

Information, agendas and registration for our rallies is always available at www.myamericancoach.com and www.southeastaca.net.
