Great Lakes, Mid Atlantic, Northeast, and Southeast Chapters Joint Rally in Williamsburg, VA (13-18 April 2024)

We (GLC) are doing a joint rally with the Mid Atlantic Chapter, Northeast Chapter, and Southeast Chapter. Depending on turnout we may apply to the ACA Board of Directors to make this a Regional Rally.

Here is the rally information for our GLC/MA/NE/SE Rally in Williamsburg, Virginia:

Rally Dates: Arrive Saturday, April 13th and depart Thursday morning, April 18, 2024 (5 nights).

Reservation Information: Call Janell, or any of the other folks, at the American Heritage RV Park at 888-530-2267 or 757-566-2133 to make reservations for this rally.  Make sure to tell whomever you talk to that you are with the American Coach Association and want one of the sites reserved for this rally. We have a block of 20 sites which are all within close walking distance to each other and are 50-amp full hook-up sites. THE CUT-OFF DATE TO MAKE RESERVATIONS IS COB SATURDAY, MARCH 2, 2022. If we don’t fill our block of 20 sites by that date, they will revert to the RV park for public rental. If someone tries to make a reservation after March 2nd it will be contingent on sites available to the public (first come, first serve); they will most likely be able to get a reservation in the park but may not be parked in a site next to our block of rally sites.

Cost: This one depends on whether we fill at least 10 or more of our 20 sites. If we can fill at least 10 sites, we get a rally price break.

1.  If we fill 10 or more sites, our rally rate per site is $64.00 per night plus applicable taxes for the 5 nights.

  1. If we have 9 or fewer Coach’s in attendance our cost is their normal $79.25 per night plus applicable taxes.

When you make your reservation, they will charge a one (1) night deposit at their normal rate of $79.25 plus applicable taxes. The contract cancellation policy is any reservation cancelled outside of 48 hours (2 days or more prior to scheduled arrival) will incur a $10.00 fee. Any reservation cancelled within 48 hours of scheduled arrival will forfeit their deposit. The check-in time is 2:00pm or later.

Rally Fee: Rally fee is to be determined since it depends on whether we schedule any group events (example: pizza dinner, morning donuts, etc.) or outings during this rally that will cost the chapter some funds.

American Heritage RV Park address: 146 Maxton Lane, Williamsburg, VA   23188. Latitude: 37.37708, Longitude: -76.76866     Their web address is: americanheritagervpark.com

Additional Information:  American Heritage RV Park is a Good Sam 10/10/10 rated campground and is located within one mile of Exit 231A off I-64. Our sites are all 50-amp full hook-up sites, a combination of pull-thru (30x60ft) or back-in (30x60ft) which was what was available. The campground has cable TV w/45+ channels, WiFi, laundry, propane, fire rings/firewood and paved interior roads.  All the sites come with concrete parking, patios, and a picnic table.  There is a fenced dog run.

Things to Do: I don’t know where to start. This area of Virginia includes Colonial Williamsburg (over 301 acres in size), which was the Colonial Capital of Virginia and takes days to explore—George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Ben Franklin, Patrick Henry, and others basically planned the Revolution and founding of our country around here. There are World Class Art Museums in Williamsburg such as the Abby Aldrich Rockefeller Folk Art Museum and The DeWitt Wallace Decorative Arts Museum. Historic Jamestown which was the first permanent English settlement in North America (established May 1607) and the Yorktown National Battlefield (where Lord Cornwallis surrendered the English Army to GEN George Washington in October 1781) are all located within 20 minutes of this location. Busch Gardens Williamsburg is also within a few miles and the state capital of Virginia, Richmond, is just up the interstate. If you are into Civil War History there are many, many Civil War Battlefields within 50 miles of this campground. The area also has just about every restaurant type you can imagine from 5-Star world-class dining to basically every restaurant chain in the USA to excellent Mom and Pop local diners.

Note: We will have use of the campground Colonial Room for get togethers starting at 1:00 pm on Sunday the 14th of April (another group is using the room on our arrival day) for the duration of our rally. We will likely get together for happy hours, and some other tourist things as a group, however, there is no planned agenda at this time (subject to change depending on Chapter desires).
